Hi, with my current eye glasses my right eye can't see clearly, either
far or near, I posted question a couple of weeks ago about this:

/bb2076958eab37c3?lnk=st&q=ns666ns&rnum=1&hl=en#bb2076958eab37c3

to find out why, I went to see another optometrist, he dilated my eyes
and did examination, his prescription is right eye has Central Serous
Retinopathy, after I did some search about that, I have some questions

-- it seems my right eye can't see clearly for a long time (like 10
years), there's no sudden change of eyesight, it's highly unlikely it
just happened recently (I didn't noticed until I want to replace my
current eyeglasses which is old, and started looking at things each eye
alone, then I noticed my right eye can't see clearly). it's not
"cloudy" or anything, eye sight is pretty clear, just can't seem to
focus correctly.

-- when I stare at text on screen with my right eye (with or without
glasses), the center of text (about 1/2+ inch long) seems curved,
downward or upward depending on position of eye.

are these observations consistent with Central Serous Retinopathy?

if it's really Central Serous Retinopathy, I guess no optics can help,
any treatment/theathpy available to improve?

thanks a lot

Why are you wasting time with optometrists? You need to see a retina
specialist.

A probable scenario was that you did have some sort of macular event
years ago, such as central serous, and that it did resolve but it left
some "scarring". My guess is that the doctor you saw should have stated
you that you "had" instead of "have" csr (ie. past tense instead of
present
tense).  Might be worth getting a f.a. (fluorescein angiography) just
to
evaluate the macular integrity.

if that's the case, is there anything that can be done to improve my
vision?
I prefer not to keep paying $$$ without getting any improvment...

I went to see optometrist because I wasn't sure if my right eye can be
corrected optically (maybe my last optometrist didn't give me the best
prescription) and I still have some doubts about it.

btw thanks all who have replied

another observation, I just noticed with naked right eye, if I look at
computer screen at close distance (like 6 inches), I see very well and
can read text with ease, much better than wearing eyeglasses looking at
screen at normal distance (1 foot+),

so doesn't that mean the prescription is not good? optically it can do
better?

if I use a glass that simulates "looking at closer distance" so I can
read better, would that make far distance looking much worse? (my
current eyeglass does improve vision when looking at far distance than
naked eye even though my right eye still can't see clearly wearing
glasses)

thanks a lot!
