My new RX is stronger than my old, but I can't see as well and I have
more distortion than with my old RX. My eyes start to burn and sting
after wearing the new glasses for a short while. I noticed there was
quite a bit of difference in the cylinder and axis measurements between
the two RXs. Could that be causing the problem? I can actually see
better with my old RX glasses. Thanks
Old RX +5.75 +.75 x 160 Add +2.50
+4.25 +.75 x 031 Add +2.50
New RX +6.00 Add +2.00

http://www.faqs.org/faqs/vision-faq/ has info concerning the different
conventions used when writing Rxs.
Asthenopia (eyestrain) could be due to the Rx or the lens design/fit/fabrication
or both. Your optician should be contacted- they'll want to see you and the
glasses to verify their work- if all is well they will refer you back to your
doctor.
Hope this helps,
