Are there good mailing lists on the same topic as this newsgroup?

I have, of course, searched the web, but the only thing I turned up was
"the_eye_sight", a Yahoo group.  Other good sources?   This would be
most appreciated...

thanks,
LD

Certainly Liz,

You might check:

wiww.i-see.org

www.chinamyopia.org

www.myopiafree.com

for some excellent links and some technically excellent
second-opinion suggestions.

Best,

Otis

Liz - feel free to follow Otis' Brown's suggestions and visit the sites
he recommends. But *please* - if you do find yourself persuaded by the
ideas on these sites, *please* take the time to peruse _this_
particular newsgroup resource for discussions in which he has
participated. Understand the level of acceptance that his views receive
in this population (which you will soon find to be NEAR ZERO). I expect
you'll have to wonder at some point what all the static in this group
is about where Otis is concerned - because you will find plenty.

You'll soon find that, with the exception of about _one_ person, his
views are virtually universally bashed.

There are many reasons for this, and in your perusal of the newsgroup
you will discover several. But in my own experience, I have asked him a
specific question regarding the theories he supports - I have asked the
question several times, and each time I have been completely ignored.
You will find that Otis will *ignore* any direct question which takes
his theories to task on any level.

What this says to me is that (and many here will agree) Otis' views are
dogmatically based, not empirically based. This in itself should set
off many alarm bells.

In fact, at this point, he's become little more than a pariah.

But please do the research for yourself. Just don't take
recommendations that anyone makes in an online resource at face value.

I'm sure you'll be able to decide for yourself whether the premises
outlined in the resources he recommends are suitable for your needs.
But in this case, I believe a gentle warning is in order.

In short - Caveat emptor. ;-)
