Do volk lenses block uv? I know that you can buy the yellow patient
comfort filter for a lot of the lenses which their website states
blocks all wavelengths shorter than 490nm but is the basic lens zero uv
transmission?

The reason I ask is that my pre reg has been told that if she brings a
uv lens to the exams it must be uv filtered. I cant imagine so many
people owning the yellow filter.

Thanks

It's glass so it blocks UV below 490.   I haven't seen a yellow tinted
Volk lens in decades, never known anyone who used one and ASAIK it's not
even sold anymore.  The yellow filter is sold as a "comfort lens" and
likewise have never seen one in use in years.
