According to my ophthalmologist & a retina specialist, I'm having PVD. I
guess the vitreous will eventually detach from the macular. When that
happens, what do I expect to see? The same blue, white-ish flashes that I
see in my peripheral vision, or something else? I'm just curious. Thanks.

No flashes.  Just floaters, maybe some big ones, especially a ring
shaped one where it comes off the optic nerve.
