Got a question for those more in the know. When DS was young the current
literature at the time said that it harmed infants/toddlers to sleep in
rooms that were not pretty much darkened. I am now hearing that this has
been found fallacious. Does anyone have current good information? What I'm
finding via google is mainly from 2000, which is more recent than when DS
was an infant, but not within the last year, say, so could be considered
old.
Thanks.

Later studies which controlled for level of parental myopia, did not
find an effect for sleeping in a lit room. Myopic parents, who don't
see as well at night, were more likely to use a night light in the
baby's room and so the genetic risk was transferred.
When the myopic parents were eliminated from the study and only non
myopic parents using or not using a night light were compared, there
was no effect.
