What are the signs and symptoms of a retinal haemorrhage?  Does it
clear later, with treatment, on its own or not at all?

I've recently been diagnosed with ITP, where the body thinks it's
clever to kill off its own platelets and the danger of retinal
haemmorhage is very real if/when my platelet count crashes.  My
initial crash was uneventful but I'd like to know what to expect if it
comes to it.

The irony of the whole thing doesn't escape me either.. a one eyed
person who bruises easily is a joke!

Cheers

Depending on the severity of the hemorrhage, the symptoms can be none
to total vision loss and everything in between.  Signs are hemorrhages
seen in the retina

The blood will eventually clear; there is no treatment except to
address the underlying vascular condition.  In severe hemorrhages into
the vitreous, the blood may not clear and a vitrectomy will be needed.

If you have a hemorrhage that affects vision then you will be prompted
to see an eye doctor.  What happens after that depends on what is
found.  It is a good idea for you to have regular retinal exams through
dilated pupils.

In case you don't know about it, here is an internet site about ITP.  I
searched the site and found no mention of retinal problems so they are
likely a very rare problem with ITP

Yeah I know.  I post there.  I know the possibilty is there because
it's why I was given IVIG immediately on diagnosis.   Hopefully I will
not go that low again and will keep at a safer level.

Cheers for the info.
