Anybody can Google wrap-around. Even you Dicky. I wasn't
aware that I've expressed any such beliefs. Bad batch of
home grown saline?

In a past life I drove a semi cross country. I wore polarized
neutral grey glass lenses with a double gradient mirror. The
best I had were ones made (for a short time) by Nikon with
all the stuff on the inside of the sandwich (except for the AR
I think). They were aviator style and not wraps.

Currently I wear Rudy Project shades. They are wraps. I
sacrificed some visual quality for the plastic and he ability
to change lenses. Again the primary lenses are neutral
grey polarized. I use their golf lenses for golf (not polarized)
and the racing red for very flat conditions.

Rudy, Oakley, Maui Jim? all have lens designs to mitigate
the distortion from wraps. There was a distinct difference
in the Rudy wraps from my Nikons. I don't know if it was
the wrap or the material. I adapted and it doesn't bother
me.
