Hello,

A coleague of mine who works at a VDU for many hours a day is currently off
work with severe eye strain.  It is at the point where he can't focus on
things for very long before his eyes start really aching.   He also has
blepheritis, so VDU work isn't ideal, but even when he's been away from the
PC for days, he is still having severe problems with his eye muscles.   He
also has quite a high prescription astigamtism which isn't helping either.
If it were just the computer work that was causing the problem, he could
just ensure he took enough rests from it, but it seems to be anything he's
trying to focus on at the moment.

Is there anything he can do to find out what's causing his problems, or
could he have just damaged the muscles beyond a point of recovery ?

Gee, off the top of my head, I would think your friend needs an eye
test. A lobotomy may also work, but glasses are so much easier.

He really should try something really simple first.

Does the comment "He also has quite a high prescription astigamtism"  give
you a hint that he has eye tests and wears glasses.

Are you always this negative ?   lets hope you're not an actual Dr.
