Foreign contact lens prescriptions

Hi

My medical insurance is in Tijuana, Mexico and I would much rather have
the ophtalmologist over there [who btw did my father's eye operation
and who checked on my mom's eye infection a couple of months back] do
my prescription.

So, now I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether contact lens
prescriptions from other countries are honored in the U.S. or not?

As I said before, I'd rather go to this doctor that we already know,
have had good experiences with, great attention and not to mention that
it will be way cheaper! [Insurance covers most of it, my co-pay is only
$5/visit vs. the $35 I had to pay extra for contact lens prescription
when I had vision coverage in the U.S. and then about $15 extra for any
follow up visits]

Thanks!

most optical outlets in the US will honor prescriptions from foreign
doctors.  shouldn't be a problem.
