My RS has been doing ove 20 years on Myopics. He said it slows down
the porgression of the Myopic MD. You have never heard of this?
Scleral buckles increase the length of the eyeball creating more myopia and
are used routinely for retinal detachment. Don't expect a decrease in
myopia.

I think you really mean something else. Sometimes a homograft is placed
around the back of the eye over the posterior staphyloma (which is present
in such cases). This reinforcement is intended to prevent further
stretching, and apparently it sometimes does. Would an MD care to join in?

I have a scleral buckle. It increased both my myopia and my
astigmatism.
I wonder if this is a simple problem with terminology, and you don't
mean "myopia" at all, but rather "macular degeneration", sometimes
referred to as "MD". This has nothing to do with myopia in my limited
knowledge.
If so, I'm done with this thread, because my knowledge about MD could
easily fit on the head of a pin!
