Just an update...

I went to my OD for my 1-week checkup with the Oasys lenses in. I told
him they didn't seem strong enough in either eye (left eye +.50 and
right eye -.75) and that they felt like my eyeballs were being
squeezed.

He took a look and said, "Yup, much too tight. They're not moving at
all. And your eyes are pretty dry."

So I said, "OK, now what?"

He said, "Go back to the AV2s.  They fit the best and gave you the best
vision. Use the drops when you need to."

I asked, "Can I try another type of silicone lens, perhaps an asperic?
Or maybe another type altogether?"

He said, "They're not going to help. See you in Dec for your yearly."

Basically, I got brushed off, so I guess I'll jsut stick with these
AV2s and wait til Dec in hopes some new types of lenses for my
particular eyes might become available.

He may be right, but unless you try you never know.
