Most of you have followed the "cataract saga" here and can read it
below. My retinal surgeon wants to do a vitrectomy to remove the piece
of old cataract. He says it may help the pupil constrict normally, but
there are no guarantees.
I already had a terrible time with what was supposedly a routine
cataract removal. I have lupus, and my question is: how many weeks of
recovery am I going to need after vitrectomy - and by recovery, I mean
a point at which I can read small print again, which I need to do for
my job? Melinda

I would think unless something else is going on, you should be able to
read within a few days, although you probably will need glasses to see
the small print.

You can use some cheap readers until you get your Rx.  Try them out in the
store.  Grap a book/magazine off the rack and try on a few pairs until you
find one that works - and fits.
