I wear -3 and -3.25 glasses. Recently I've noticed that during the evening,
when watching tv, I can see two images. I don't notice this in the daytime
and I don't think I'm tired when it happens. why might it be? If I close each
eye in turn the image is in focus, why not then with both eyes open? Would
really appreciate any insight. Thanks.

I suggest that you consult an ophtalmologist or optometrist who
specializes in strabismus.  I'm not an eye doctor, but it could be that
your eyes are slightly out of alignment, and your eye muscles tire as
the day progresses.  Do you ever get double vision when driving at
night?  Are the two images horizontal or vertical?

It's important to know whether _each_ eye sees a double image - eg can you
see "ghosting" with one eye only? Or are there actually two TV's?

Also, are the 2 images separated horizontally, vertically, or obliquely,
and are they overlapping or completely separate, and can you voluntarily
"fuse" them (bring them single with effort)? Also, does it only happen
when you're tired (or have been partaking of substances)?

I see double from near with my glasses unless I strain to cross my eyes
then its single but blurry. closing one eye prevents doubling but is
blurry. You may just have tired eyes and some trouble fusing the two
images into one.

I noticed it last night watching TV and could see two of people on the screen.
It doesn't always happen, just sometimes, probably when I'm slightly tired as
its usually at the end of the day, not usually linked to taking any
substances. In terms of the images, last night I could see two side by side,
so does that mean they're horizontally separated, they didn't overlap. I
haven't tried to fuse them. What is it please?
