I have been cross-eyed since about 4 which was OK, except that now I need
bifocals.

Since I have a lazy eye and my head is always turned about 10 degrees to the
left, the bifocals need to be compensated accordingly (these bifocals are of
the smooth-transition type).

How do I get the optometrist to quantify the correct position of lens
grinding to account for my lazy eye?  None of them seem to know.

I need key words and phrases, and probably the name of some machine.

Please help.

They should be able to compensate by having you assume your normal head
turned position while marking the lens for your pupillary position. This
will only affect the fixating eye, so it should be very easy to do. I'm
quite surprised that any O.D. who is even conscious doesn't understand
this.

ditto. although with bifocals, it really won't make much difference to
your viewing zone, multifocals on the other hand............

If your optom won't comply, go elsewhere or order 35mm segs.
