I don't hang out in this newsgroup and don't know if
the question is appropriate, but here goes:
I am looking for an optician/optometrist/witch doctor
in northeast Ohio who sells/has even heard of the
diamond-machined-to-individual-prescription
aspheric/atoric progressive eyeglasses.
Specifically Rodenstock Multigressive 2 and Zeiss Gradal
Individual.
I found a list on the Zeiss website and have a call into
the local referral. I have had no luck finding a Rodenstock
dispenser. The usual response is 'We deal with _all_
lenses, just come on in...' or 'You need a shoe store.
We aren't a shoe store, we sell eyeglasses.'

Essilor Ipseo, SolaOne HD and Hoya Somethingorother are also using the
same rear surface MF design. They are all very good lenses.

Nicholas,
The independents should have access these lenses. The Zeiss is free-form on the
front surface, the Rodenstock is free-form on the back. Those with stronger
distance, reading (add power), and astigmatism Rxs will benefit the most from
this technology.
Hope this helps,
