Rimless recommendations

I'm looking for new frames and lenses. My prescription is -4.50/-4.75
with no astigmatism.

I am considering rimless, but have had trouble with chromatic
abberations with polycarbs in the past and do not want to go there.

My concerns are (1) vision quality and (2) edge thickness.

My initial thoughts are to look for a optician that handles Trivex
lenses, but still have concerns about image quality and thickness. I am
fine with smaller lenses.

My current lenses are a mid-index (I think a 1.56).

Am I on the right track or do I need to forget the rimless idea? Are
there other lenses to consider?

Thanks.

Trivex or Spectralite might look too thick in a rimless. Seiko aspheric 1.6 is
10% thinner, Hoya 1.7 another 15% thinner. Off-axis vision should be fine with
any of these materials (with your Rx) if the lenses are positioned properly in
front of the eyes.

Hope this helps,
