This stuff is really thick and solid...

Probably, but my past history with CLs has convinced me that it's not all
crazy. I really dread opening up the first vial of new lenses for fear that
they won't fit (like my previous Coopers) and I'll have to take SOMEBODY to
court.

It seems to make them settle in sooner. My right one takes up to an hour
before it stops fuzzing up. Just for you, though, I'll stop and see if it
makes any difference.
These lenses:
Sunsoft Toric Multiples Div II, Ocular Sciences Methafilcon
8.5 R: +3.50 -2.25 x 90
L: +5.75 -2.25 x 80
Provide better vision than my previous attempts. Is it too much to hope for
that I got lucky this time?

It feels sticky like the stuff you use for RGPs. I didn't like that either.

I love Sunsoft, tho I don't use them as often these days.

It's reasonable. I find SSM's consistent and predictable.

The next day I added no drops. The left lens generally settles right away,
but the right one took two hours. Today I added drops of saline. Right lens
settled within minutes and I had no itchy bubbles. So from now on the
procedure is (1) use up the sticky Renu and buy the other stuff next time and
(2) rinse with saline in the morning and add a drop to each lens.
