I normally don't recommend progressives for high plus, but I've got a
patient who is pretty much demanding it.  His distance Rx is around
+8.00 O.U. And naturally, he wants a short corridor for his narrow
frames (18 mm seg ht max) Any suggestions?

If he can take control and use the "minus" lenses for his own, he can
clear his vision to 20/40 or below, don't you think? :-P

Don't get me started.  Actually, I want the guy (a 41 yo physical
therapist) to get IOLs ASAP, but since he's also a successful CL wearer,
he wants to wait on more info about multifocal IOLs.

Speaking of which, has anyone on this group actually seen a patient
who's had the ReStor implants? All the "studies" I've seen so far are
pretty lop sided and well spun...

Very few PALs come with a true base curve over +8.00. I have used Comfort 1.6,
Seiko 1.67, and Zeiss Individual 1.67. The latter is a free form design. If the
add is more than +1.75 it might be best to use the Seiko lens. Ask for the
"Proceed Short". The others would probably be ok with lower adds, or if there
are infrequent close tasks.
