I have experiece with Serengeti "Drivers lens" sunglasses. I use them
primarily for driving but also when the sun's bright in the summer. The
Serengeti has the advantage of being robust. I've sat on them with no
problems.

Maui Jim also makes a lens comparable to Serengetti, but I'm not
familiar with them. Most sunglass shops seem to push the Maui Jim and
don't carry Serengeti. I am trying to warm up to their product line.

Maui Jim uses a polarized lens and Serengeti also has a polarized lens,
but I am only knowledgeable about the Serengeti "Drivers lens", which
is great for driving but the polarized lens sunglasses seem to be
recommended in the sunglass shops.
I am now sorting out if I need polarized or the Serengeti drivers lens
which I have experience using. And if polarized, should I get Mauii Jim
or stick with Serengeti.
Any thoughts on this?

And get polarized.

Do you prefer Pepsi or Coke? Same thing, just personal preference.
Both are good products. I've worn Serengeti's myself but Maui Jim's
are excellent as well.

I've worn both and liked them both. Polarized lenses
make a big difference. Some of the other coatings do too.
Choose the brand and colors that suit you best. Other
brands have the same coatings available.
