Does anybody have any knowledge whether a person with nickel allergies
should wear flexon frames? Flexon is a Titanium/Nickel based alloy. I
did some searching, and I didn't find anybody that complained their
Flexon frames aggravated their nickel allergies. The salesperson
assured me the frames are non-corrosive and hypoallergenic. I know I
should just go with a 100% titanium frame instead, but I got tricked
last time into buying one that had nickel temples...not cool. I was
just curious as to whether anybody knows with certainty whether people
with nickel allergies should stay away from Flexon.

100% titanium and beta titanium frames are nickel free if the coloring is nickel
free.
Silhouette and Rodenstock titanium frames are completely nickel free.
Hope this helps

My understanding is that Nitinol (the material used in Flexon frames) is
about 50% Titanium and 50% Nickel (these are only approximate percentages).
It is possible (but I don't know) that the Nickel does not easily escape
when combined with Titanium in the alloy.
I have worn Autoflex frames (also made by Marchon and similar to Flexon but
only certain parts of the frame have the memory) for a long time and have
not had a problem, but I don't know whether I am allergic to nickel.
