I have finally realized what "limited range of correction" means when
y'all are talking about the O2o and the Acuvue Advance Torics.
Neither one comes close to providing me with enough spherical
correction on the left; the O2o would probably correct my right eye,
but what's the point?

Myopically yours...

Derar Wooly,

I thought you were an OD.

What refraction value are you
talking about?

-5 D?

-8D?

Berst,

Otis

Just a lifetime wearer of spectacles and an occasional dabbler with
contacts.  -9.25 left, -6.75 right, both with astigmatism.  A -6.00
contact lens *might* get my right eye corrected to an acceptable
level, but the spiffy new soft  lenses hitting the market right now
apparently don't come in a power stronger than a -6.00 so I'm out of
luck on the left.

Dear Wooly,

Please disregard Otis's posting.  He is not in the medical profession and
not in any position to give medical advice.

Thanks!

Dear Wooly,

Some people are intellectial -- i.e., they actually READ the
statements in question.

I believe that the "Allen" in brain-dead in his mindless
"posts" of his.

I think he is attempting to act as a, "Defender of the Faith"
or some other nonsense.

Please forgive him -- because he has no clue.

Best,

Otis

Thanks for the warning Allen.  I've been reading this group long
enough that I can filter the dreck pretty easily.  For a change Otis
wasn't pounding the pulpit for one of his "treatments" :)

Give it time, the new materials will soon spread throughout product lines as
the demand and consequently the long term result studies grow. The new
highly breathable  hydrogels were slow starters (in part to lawsuits over US
only patents and probably even to reluctance on some fitters who are jaded
on new products,) but they are taking off.. Foreign wearers have been lucky
to avoid the patent issues in the US.
