A good question, for which there is no answer. The companies are not
disclosing their plans for releasing lenses in expanded parameters.
My guess is that Ciba will be making some kind of announcement the last
week of May. If I were to guess, and as I am telling my patients, I
suspect Ciba will have a toric June, perhaps B&L. By September I would
think J&J will have expanded their currently very limited toric
parameters and by then Purevision, O2Optix and Advance will all be in
the race to garner market share. And what about Coopervision?
And the winner is......................

I hear from both Ciba and Purevision that June is the date. They more
or less have to meet the Acuvue Advance challenge.

Ah, I'll be waiting to try the Acuvue Advance torics then. If my
eyedoc will potentiall have three new and (possibly) improved toric
lenses later in the summer it won't be a hardship. Especially as
allergy season around here seems to be dragging out this year.

I've fit two patients already, and so far I am impressed with the
performance.
