I need to get three pairs of prescription glasses made (near, far,
bifocal) in the DC Metro/Suburban MD area.  I checked the prices at
Lens Crafters in White Flint Mall, and they are off the roof!  Can
anyone recommend anyplace, preferably not too far from Rockville /
Kensington / Bethesda / Gaithersburg MD, that has a little more
reasonable prices?  Someplace where they can actually do the eye exam
on site as well would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for all replies.

I have used For Eyes. I don't know how their prices compare with
Lenscrafters but they seemed reasonable in conjunction with coupons
they have often. You can get the coupons on their web site.

Dear Steven,

The "best price", $19, was from:

I think they are located in California.

Best,

Otis

Wal-Mart has better quality lenses than Lenscrafters on average (you can
also save if you have a Sams membership).

Don't be confused about "on-site" eye exams. The OD's are usually not
directly affiliated with the optical stores, they just rent space. You can
go to any OD (even at Lenscraters) and get a written Rx that is valid
anywhere.

Well,  assuming you can get into a Costco Warehouse, I've been getting
glasses from Costco Optical for years:  generally between 60 and 90 a
pair, mostly dependent on the frames. ..

Steven,

A friend of mine is the manager of the Frederick store, he knows what
he is doing, and reasonable too. His name is Mike.
I don't know if you want to travel that far, but I'll throw it out to
you.
