Anyone know the cost of Cataract Surgery?

Varies.  With insurance or medicare it's about $1000 per eye in the midwest.
Some docs charge more for private pay patients.  You have to ask to be sure.

Or they may charge less because you write them a check on the spot.  A 20%
discount is typical, but given how much the insurance companies hack out of
their billings before paying 80%, a bigger discount would certainly be in
order.

I paid US$1.00 for the first one.  Either my coverage changed or they
forgot to charge me for the second one.  I belong to an HMO, though.

If you go to a cataract specialist (which I recommend, having had it),
it's about $3000 per eye in No. California, (regional and Dr. to Dr.
variations probably abound in the U.S.), including the pre-ops, the
post-ops, the meds, the surgery center's fees and the implant itself..
Your insurance may or may not pay for all or part of it, and more
importantly, may require you to go to a particular surgeon (ugh).
