Repairing vision
Custom or wave-front-guided LASIK, approved by the FDA in May 2003,
provides better results than conventional LASIK, allowing a higher
percentage of patients to leave the operating room with 20-20 vision or
better, metro-area ophthalmologists say.

I don't know about that "repair" statement. I didn't thank that many
would agree a myopic, hyperopic, or astigmatic eye was "broken" and
needed repair.
Also, all refractive surgery, be it conventional excimer laser
ablation or wavefront-guided ablation, induces higher order
aberrations (HOA) overall. Not on every patient, and sometimes it
even reduces HOA, but not reliably or predictably.

What was the purpose of this post? Are we now sinking to the level of
using a newspaper article as a scientific reference?
For informational purposes, I have been interviewed a few times and
have actually submitted news articles of my own. If I run a large
enough ad, I get a free story.
