"we have the best price" "we sell factory direct" "enter your
prescrption in the windows below to have your contacts rushed to your
door"Does anyone have good testimonials to say about any of these
lenses companies such as 1 800 contacts lense direct coastal contacts
ect.My eyes are important to me but I know some companies can give you
exactly the same thing your doc would for less

They don't always have the best price.  Of course, some people will
haggle over a dime.  It happened to me today.  The woman said she could
get the lenses for $45/box over the internet.  Our list price was $47.
So, technically they were less, although I could match the price easy
enough.

The problem I have, and I think I speak for other doctors, is when the
internet companies fill lenses without prescriptions, or try to
substitute one brand of lens for another when they are not equivalent.
Basically, they usurp the traditional doctor/patient relationship in so
doing.  But, that is their intent.

My doctor says that in order to release my perscription I have to see
him in a follow up appointment. When he fitted me with acuvue adv. he
scheduled an appt 1 week later. Now that I am trialing focus N D he says
to give them a 2 week trial.Do focus ND take a longer adj period like
he said .He also said most people preferred Pure vision but there in
some legal battle. Is he correct?I used to wear acuvue2s and slep in
them inadvertantly never had a problem but the doc said he cant approve
acuve adv except for daily wear only.Sohe said try FOcus N D

I make the follow-up appointment after the patient has fully adapted to
the lens.  Sometimes, little or no adaption is necessary, in which case
the timing of the follow-up visit is slightly arbitrary.

Acuvue Advance, having much greater oxygen permeability than Acuvue 2,
would seem better suited for overnight wear than Acuvue 2, which is
approved for overnight wear.  Ironically, Vistakon never sought
overnight wear approval by the FDA for the Acuvue Advance.

Imagine this scenario:  Patient "pfleggs" sleeps in Acuvue Advance,
develops an ulcer, and loses 3 lines of vision.  Pfleggs sues his eye
doctor.  Pfleggs' lawyer asks the eye doctor why he told pfleggs it was
OK to sleep in the lens.  The doctor responds "because the oxygen
permeability is so much higher."  Pfleggs attorney then asks the doctor
if the lens was approved for overnight wear.  The jury is shocked when
the doctor says "NO."  Jury rules in favor of the plaintiff.

I placed my first order with www.lensdiscounters last week after doing
a extensive online search for "the best price". They would not ship the
order without a copy of my Rx and reminded me by email to send it on to
them.  The order arrived within 3 days via Delivery Confirmed USPS and
was the product which was Rx'ed in orginal boxes.  Would use them
again.

I do not work for the above company nor have any intrest in it.
