If you live in the US, Hoya's 1.70 index is the thinnest. The abbe number is
higher than 1.67 (clearer off-axis vision) but the cost is higher. Make sure
that the anti-reflection coating is one of the newer easier to clean products
i.e Zeiss Advantage, Hoya Super Hi-Vision, Essilor Alize.
If you live outside the US, consider Zeiss 1.9 index lenses. Much thinner than
1.70 and 1.67, with increased weight and reduced impact resistance and abbe
number.
Lenses must be accurately positioned by taking monocular PDs, including vertical
position, using a pre-adjusted frame, with the nose pads (if applicable)
adjusted in a way that they do not interfere with the lens.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Robert. I don't suppose that you're located in the Boston area?
