No, it is not. Whether or not a lens "pops out easily" is a function of
how well the lens is fit. It is true that for some people, achieving
that "perfect" fit is not possible due to various anatomical issues.
Although RGP (now called GPs, 'cause the R-rigid part erks some folks)
lenses do "take some getting used to", many people, not all, can and do
find them to be perfectly comfortable. Some, especially people with
moderately dry eyes may find RGPs *more* comfortable than soft lenses.
Generally, although not always, RGP lenses provide sharper vision and
yes, they are less expensive, mostly because they can last for a year,
sometimes even two years before replacement. But with one caveat: if
you loose or break them, they might end up to be more expensive than
soft lenses.
I personally use RGP multifocals, one pair of which is in Menicon
material, and Focus N&D lenses. I am not comfortable sleeping in the RGP
and can sleep in N&D, but only for a few days at a time. The RGP optics
are outstanding, the comfort is not. The N&D optics is tolerable, the
comfort is outstanding. But that's me. I've many patients who use N&D
24/7, most about 2 weeks between cleaning, and very, very few who sleep
in RGPs.

Yeah, so far Focus N&Ds are great. It sounds like Menicon Z might be just as
good too, so I might get a pair of those.
