Hi my name is Sam, I'm doing some research into eye behavior for a
degree in which I am making an animation of a character which has
expressive pupils along with writing a research paper.

For my research I need to find books which categorize the different
influences on the pupils. Such as light, focus and physical effort.

Any direction with this would be greatly appreciated.

Sam,
Maybe for a start just google on pupillary reflexes , light reflexes, near
reflex and pain and fear reflexes.
And the psycho-optical reflexes are also interesting.

Re: Googling "pupil changes emotion"

Amazing!

Since i last looked at this stuff there is some amazing work being done.

Future computer games will monitor your emotional state and change the game
to reflect that!

"Measuring Emotion with the Tobii Eye Tracker

To determine the emotions evoked by different play experiences, we are
looking at the possibility of using the Tobii eye tracking hardware to
monitor arousal through the changes in pupil dilation"
