Hello. I was playing soccer late Friday night and got hit right in the
eye with the ball. All I was able to see out of my left eye were bright
lights and objects right against my eye. After going to the emergency
room, I was referred to an opthamologist. The next morning I went to
see the eye Dr. and he said that I hadn't done much damage to the eye
but that I did have hyphema (blood in the eye). Saturday, my vision was
foggy but I was able to see.

I was prescribed some eye drops and left my patch on for the rest of
Saturday. The Dr. said that I can remove the patch on Sunday but to
sleep with the patch on. Once I took the patch off on Sunday, my vision
was clear in my left eye but there was blood in the bottom of the iris
which is to be expected. I put the patch back on on Sunday night before
going to be (sleeping in an evelated position). When I awoke Monday
morning, I noticed that my vision was somewhat foggy again. I had a Dr.
appointment scheduled for Monday already and mentioned this to him. He
stated that it can happened as the blood clots and fluids move around.
He then gave me brinzolamide to get the pressure back down. My foggy
vision cleared up a little bit during the day but not completely.

Today, Tuesday, I went to the Dr. again and my vision seems to be
foggier than yesterday and hasn't cleared throughout the day. Is this
normal? Dr. said it should clear by end of the week. Anyone have a
similiar experience?

Went to the eye Dr. today and he stated that this foggyness is caused
by the iris being inflammed and uped my dosage of Tri .. something
(anti-inflammatory), from 4 times a day to every 2 hours. Anyone else
have this experience?

You have to careful w. hypemas as they can re-bleed. You still need
to take it very easy. It isn't uncommon for hyphemas to take time
to resolve-   you have to be patient and follow what your provider is
instucting you.

Thank you very much for the response. I've been trying to take it as
easy as possible but my wife just gave birth so it's a little difficult
but I'm trying. Thanks for chiming in.

Question: Is it best to keep a patch on the eye does it matter? My Dr.
told I could take it off after a couple of days and to just sleep with
it on.

the patch is to keep you from rubbing your eye while you are asleep.  I
would wear it for at least a week while sleeping if you can.  it's a
good precaution, along with reduced activity, no heavy lifting, no
aspirin, etc.
