Hello,

I have suspected that large doses of effexor had contributed to blurry
vision, although the doctors said NO.  This evening I read on the
internet that blurred vision is indeed a side-effect.

How does this happen?

How long is this expected to last?  Will the blurriness get better?

Are there other correlations with other eye problems: in particular,
blind spots or glaucoma?

Thank you for all answers!

Ted:  I'm not familiar with effexor or the side effects, but hopefully
you'll get some responses from others who know something about this
med.

I just wanted to throw out a suggestion. If the blurriness is
intermittent (coming and going) then it could well be a side effect and
you could ask your Dr to lower the dose as a test. If the blurriness is
constant, I would suggest an appointment with an Eye Doc to rule out
(or diagnose) vision problems.  Hope this helps.   Starvin' Marv

To the OP-

(Presuming you're taking it in the morning) Have you tried taking it
in the evening, perhaps with dinner?  You may find the side effects
reduced....

Good luck!

Effexor and similar drugs can cause blurred vision, fatigue, and other
symptoms during the first four to six weeks of use as the body adapts to
having higher (normal as opposed to low) levels of serotonin.   After this
initial period all goes back to normal.

The is no increased risk of eye diseases like glaucoma.
