I have about 3 months I suffer from monocular diplopia which occured after
a nervous breakdown. As I have an implanted lense in that eye, I visited a
doctor immediately but have been told there is nothing wrong with the eye
or the lens. Basically it occures in higher contrast environments and
especially when I get nervous or angry, and sometimes it looks just like a
glare in the eye (hope that makes sense).

I also have a numb feeling around the eye, which was more pronounced the
days after the nervous breakdown, something like intense mydriasis. Could
it be something of neurological nature and where should I start from?

A clear symptom of mental strain.

Read Dr. Bates book, PERFECT SIGHT WITHOUT GLASSES, you will find
plenty of useful informations to get rid of the disease.
