Is it possible to use the technology, that is used before laser
surgery to measure the eye's optical properties, as a basis to custom
manufacture perfectly matching contact lenses?
I'll need to replace my current lenses soon, and I'd invest a bit more
if this was possible.
I tried researching this with Google, but so far I'm not even sure
what to look for...

Older-tech rigid contacts often give "hyperacuity" that rivals the results
of wavefront refractive surgery.

Rigid gas perm contacts can correct astigmatism and corneal irregularities
remarkably well. The other aberrations are usually pretty minor.

It's possible to manufacture a soft contact lens with the complexity of a
wavefront map, but prohibitively expensive.
