Hello,
I had a new pair of glasses done 3 years ago in canada.. my
perscription is very high.. about -11.0 and i had it done with an the
1.74 index with very small frames (think John Lennon).. I was planning
to keep these glasses for the long haul, but alas theres a bunch of
scratches right in the middle of the right lens, and a few nicks on
the left lens which are very annoying to say the least.. so i've
decided to get new glasses.. I'm in the U.S. now and was wondering if
1.67 index lens would be pretty similar in thickness to the 1.74 lens
when its completed? my current pair of glasses are not as thin as i
thought they would be..
also i find that only the center of the lens's vision on each eye is
clear, the rest is kinda "warped".. meaning my periphal vision is very
limited.. so most of the time i'm resorting to contacts out of
comfort.. is that just effect of having such a high perscription? is
there anyway to remedy this on my next lens purchase?
thanks!

how can you still be conceiving of buying new lenses?
isn't enough the damage you have suffered???

Non faccio solitamente gli attacchi personali, ma Rishi, siete un sacchetto
incredibile del douche.

About 10% thicker. Consider 1.70 index from Hoya and Tokai. There won't be a
noticeable difference in thickness but these lenses have higher abbe numbers
(36) than 1.67 and 1.74. This may be important because...

highly dispersive lens materials like poly, 1.67 and 1.74 index plastic, and
extra high index glass lenses will be the primary cause of off-axis blurring and
color fringing in higher lens powers. Precise and technically correct lens
positioning will minimize these aberrations. Your lenses should be coated to
reduce internal and surface reflections along with increased light transmission.
Hope this helps
