Does anyone know when or if silicone hydrogel toric will become available in the US? Which manufacturer will be offering them? I don't know of any real info that speaks to that. There is absolutely no reason why any one of the manufacturers couldn't make one tomorrow. It's all about making money and sadly, too many of my colleagues don't actively fit multifocals. But add J&J's Acuvue Advance to the list of torics in the "very soon" category. Ciba have a patent for a multifocal version of their Night & Day lens. This means they have it in mind, but who knows when they'll decide to release it. I'm sure the timing will be based on commercial factors rather than technical. I don't even know whether they've done any early testing, or whether it's just a design in a computer somewhere.
