Good news from our client who is treating her imperfect sight after having discarded her strong myopic glasses. Today we managed to read the 50 line of the white Snelln chart at 8 feet, indoors, with a good light pointing on the eyechart. So the "remote" point is slowly slowly becoming more remote every day of work. Other interesting dfevelopments are that the "eccentric fixation2 has been reduced to half a meter. The original measurement at two meters distance from the big C of the 200 line gave a value of TWO meters of eccentric fixation: so the improvement up to now has been of FOUR TIMES!!! With the third line (letter P of the Bates' original Snellen chart) of the 70 feet, the eccentric fixation is reduced to 30 cm. Please do not reply to this message. Dear Rishi, Rather that using the "50" line, why not keep it simple and provide the SIZE of the letter and the distance. The would be an OBJECTIVE measurement. It is already an objective data. Read Dr. Bates book. Dear Rishi, The normal way you state her vision (VA) on the eye chart is to say she has 20/50 vision. Or the ability to read 7/8 inch letters at 20 feet. Truly an amazing change from -20 diopters. Perhaps we should send a deligation of ODs over to your place to verify this result. Congratulations. Otis is not an expert in any field of vision. His medical and eyecare training is nil. He is a proponent of a myopia prevention technique that is unproven. In addition, Otis continually misquotes people in his posts. He drops the names of doctors whom he falsely claims to be associated with. He has been caught in out-and-out lies. He has given people incorrect medical advise. Sadly, his behavior suggests he may have psychological problems that compel him to argue against people just for the sake of causing an argument. Otis is what is known in internet newsgroup lingo as a "troll". Do not reply to his postings-- it just takes up bandwidth and storage space that should be reserved for meaningful topics. It also just fulfils his sick psychological needs. No one means to suppress the honest opinions of others. This message is only meant to forewarn anyone who might misconstrue Otis as a trained eyecare expert. Don't you be bothered by this special idiot. It is just another specimen of the endless idiots who call themselves "doctors" but in fact they just destroy people's eyesight and in so doing, their life. |
