Eye Prescription Change

I had macular hole surgery in June which included membrane peel and
replacement of lens  in Right Eye.
Last week I went to see my Ophthalmologist about distortion in the Left eye.
He tested both eyes and said that my vision in the Right eye was slightly
worse than in October when he prescribed new lenses. The Right eye being
Plano for distance.
The distortion in the left eye he attributed to macular degeneration.
My question relates to a my Right eye. For some reason I was looking through
the lens of my Left eye while watching TV and noticed a significant
improvement in clarity of the TV image when viewing it through the middle
portion of the trifocal of the left eye. Best results were when left lens
was rotated 45 degrees clockwise from horizontal. I looked up the
prescription for this as I have a separate set of glasses for computer
viewing. It was -1 +1.5 cyl at 135. Would I be correct in stating that my
right eye prescription should now be -1.0 +1.5 cyl at 135 .
This to me is a significant change and I'm surprised that the
Ophthalmologist said there had been no change. Comments please.

Bill,

Let's see if I'am understanding the situation correctly. Old Rx for the right
eye was plano sphere. The doc says the vision has decreased in the right eye. Is
there a new Rx for the right eye, or the vision loss due to pathology? It sounds
like the former since you can improve the distance vision by looking through an
Rx lens. Some docs underestimate the level of visual improvement that we will
respond to when the Rx change is small. That might be the case here. Time to
report back to the doctor to have this checked.

Hope this helps
