Picked up my new progressives yesterday, Varilux Comforts in a set of Oga
half-rim frames. Pretty good right out of the box. They might be set just
a mm or so high, but I'm going to try and get used to that before going
back. Not all that bad, really. I had the optician grind the lenses a
couple of mm longer than the dummy display lenses to give me a bit more
reading correction area. I absolutely love the Oga frames. Not only do
they look good, but they are strong and rigid and fit me perfectly. I'm
really glad I went to my usual optician and not one of the discount places
I had been considering. He's great.

Glad to hear you found a good optician. I'am not familiar with the Oga frames.
Only place I've found them with a quick google search was
http://www.caseco.co.uk/. Looks like the US doesn't have a distributor. Do you
where they are made?

Another way to get more reading correction area, or less tipping of the head
back (to see higher up on the page), is to use a shorter corridor PAL design. I
wear a +2.25 add and for me they work extremely well.

Regards

Robert

There's no indication on the frame itself. They seem to be a Scandinavian
design. The writing on the frame (aside from some numbers) says only "Les
Createurs Reunis", whatever that is. Could they be made in France?

My other set uses short-corridor AO Easy lenses and they work OK, but I
find the transition a bit abrupt. I specified the Comforts since I knew
what I would get and liked them in my old set. After 10 days I like them
even more - as close to a perfect set of glasses as I've ever had.
