I just got glasses, and I can see quite clearly now however my depth
perception up close is way off. For example when I'm walking with my glasses
on I feel a lot taller compared to without glasses. I also have a difficulty
navigating obstacles close to my feet. Another annoyance is when I move my
head objects I'm looking at also move compared to without glasses where when
I move my head objects I'm looking at don't move. Will this change if I
switch to contacts? My visual acuity without lenses is 20/410 and with
lenses 20/20.

Those symptoms are much better with contacts, but we don't know your
prescription so it's hard to guess how appropriate contacts would be. What
we do know:

Glasses minify the image you see, and minification decreases, the closer the
frame fits to your eye.

People who wear glasses like yours usually get used to minification, and
don't notice it after a week or three.

People who wait until their vision is 20/400 have a bigger adjustment to
make.

Glasses are safer and more reliable than contacts, and that people who wear
contacts should have glasses for backup.

dear friend, if you are demonstrated that by 5 minutes of mental work
you can go from 20/410 to 20/200 without glasses, what would you do?

I'm having the same feeling - visual acuity is about the same as yours,
20/350 at about -3 with slight astigmatism.

Depth perception is indeed much better with contacts, and you also get
rid of the image "bending" around the edges of the visual field.

However, contacts can become dry at annyoing times, so they aren't the
perfect solution either. But better in my opinion.

I'm assuming that 20/410 is a typo.  My answer to you will be different if
you meant 20/400 than if you meant 20/40.  I can only tell you my
experience, which may not apply to you.  I wore glasses for 35 years. both
glasses and contacts (mostly contacts) for 5 years, and only contacts for
5 years.  I currently do not wear corrective lenses.
