Suddenly my vision was blurred...but not out-of-focus-blurred, rather,
it was swirly, more like a liquid distortion.  It was only in my left
eye and when I would close it I still could sense the blurryness....
I also checked my perifery.  When the pencil got out to the edge I knew
it was there and I could see it move but I was unable to see the
details.
I have never had an eye problem and I am in good health, 27 years old.
Any thoughts?

Did it persist?  It could be migraine without headache, or as serious as a
retinal detachment, the sort of thing you'd want checked out by an eye
doctor. Get an appointment for "sudden loss of vision" and you should get
quicker attention.

If it doesn't go away in 20 minutes or so, it's probably not due to a
migraine. I've had such experiences. If the person who posted this message
still has these symptoms, they should see a doctor immediately.
