When I got the letter confirming I was on the waiting list for a TKR
they asked me to phone the hospital and tell them if there were any
dates when I wasn't available. So I told them that I'm on holiday from
Friday (24th) to 9th September, inclusive.

Yesterday I received the summons to my pre-op check for (guess) Tuesday
28th August!

So I phoned up and explained. The lass on the other end of the phone
sighed and said "Sorry, they didn't pass that on".

I wonder if I ought to mail them two copies in future, one labelled
"Left hand" and one labelled "Right hand"!

And, yes, they'll postpone my check until after I get home. I just hope
they don't send me the appointment details while I'm away!

Cheers for now,

Dave

Better the error with the secretary than on the operating table!

The trouble is that the two are not mutually exclusive.
