Rather than include this in the other thread I thought I'd ask separately.

During my appointment on Tuesday, amongst other things I had a blood test
for a specific antibody. I *thought* she said it was ECC or ECP or
something but due to the 'brain fog' now I'm not sure and I have searched
the internet and can't find that.
Am I getting this completely wrong or does anyone know what it might be?
Sorry, it's not much of a description. I will be seeing my GP next week and
he should have a copy of the letter, so I'll try and find out.

Would it be ESR.

Thanks Shirley. I've done lots of reading up today, learnt a lot but some
of it just goes way over my head. However I think the blood test was
Anti-CCP and I found this site that explains it.

Have a good read of this website:

http://www.arthritis.co.za/Default.htm

click on "the virtual office tour"

then click "The Laboratory"

That should help explain in more detail.
Remember when you see your GP or RD or RA Nurse  to ask them to
explain the "within Normal range" numbers for each of the blood tests
you have had taken.
That's important because an ESR could be within [1-20] as normal in
Gloucester. The same ESR blood test in Derby could be within [1-28].
Each UK path lab can be calibrated differently. Thus for you to know
how far "off the clock" you are you need these as a yardstick.

Hope that helps.

Oh that was hilarious. /imagines...

.....  Alan at the front, off he goes, Splodge behind, then me, Jayne,
Harvey, Robin, Cheb, Baino....

Alan does his pick up the chestnuts bit, Splodge mistimes, pokes him in the
ear. That confuses me, I kick her in the er.. rear... and she shrieks, as
behind me Jayne does her big swim, narrowly missing my head. Harvey turns
and bows to Robin who is doing his whoosh-whoosh bit so gets a smack on the
nose. He takes a step back, onto Chebs toe just as Baino looks round, feels
like an idiot and strolls off.

Alan is still up the front, in the frozen pose... Hey Alan, we're all off
to the bar!!

I'm off to practice...

I boogie much more enthusiastically than that!  In fact, my daughter has
banned me from ever again 'moving to the music'.

Wow, can you now help with a few hours to give me time to do all the things
I should have been doing while reading that and other things it led to!
Seriously, there is a lot of information there, so thanks.

No problem, it is a lot to take in at first, but work with your
doctors and nurses to make sure you get the right medical answers.

And continue to call by here to let us know how you are progressing.
