Dicllofenac Sodium for O/A. Tolerence Factor ?
Standard Anti-Inflammatory DICLOFLEX 50mg 3 per day
I've been given these to help with my OA in both hips .
The do indeed help somewhat..
though I take just one, or on busy days 2 instead of the 3 prescribed  by
the GP.
Which is the manufactures Max recommended dose.
BUT is there a "get used to them " so they become less affective ?
Thanks HWB

150mg per day
If you only take 2 and think they may be less effective, talk to your
GP about getting them in 75mg tablets.

I take 3x50mg every day as prescribed. There is a build up factor with
taking them regularly but I think with all drugs there is a certain immunity
after a prolonged period of time. I think the combination of the drugs I'm
on helps. I suppose the only way to tell is to not take them for at least a
week or so, time for the drugs to get out of your system. :)

I've been on them for nearly a year ..I was given next to no advice on them
or Anti-Inflams in general ...the manufactures Bit o Paper in the box
stresses the need to take them regularly & no other information
..
The G.P. said there were lots very similar & this just happened to
be the one he gives out...An other from the same type MIGHT be more
effective for me
but there was no way of knowing in advance (GP said).

The Consultant I have once seen flatly refused to discuss medication
..he's was a Surgeon..essentially I had one set of X-RAYS taken &
was "informed" that yes my hips are bad and I could have Replacements
if / when I wanted them...no discussion or info & advice. (Stoke Manderville
Hospital, Mid Bucks ...really only cares Re: its targets)

When I 1st started medication for this O/A in both hips I took Paracetamol
in about 1000mg 3 doses per day ...I think I might try going back to this
regime
for a while to compare.
My attitude is to take as little as possible because of both side affect &
tolerance
issues.
It very difficult for me to have the re-placement op in the near future.
Thanks HWB
