Hi Jane   :o)

Sorry to hear you're losing sleep there ... what ails you at the
moment?  I tend to be the opposite, I want to sleep and sleep and
sleep all morning and then at 16:30 I want to sleep again - especially
after my Methotrexate day :os

Take care - and thank the gods of broadcasting for late-night TV ;o)

Haha, I prefer to choose the moment of my masochism ... I record it
from my digital TV (red button on BBC1) and then I can spend the next
day listening to the previous night's 'action' while writhing in
mental anguish as I whip myself and put on my hair-shirt LOL

Apparently we need to use sub-standard bowlers because they might
score 10-20 more runs than the good ones ... on a good day. And it's
perfectly professional behaviour for some of our best batsmen to
average about 20 runs before they throw their wickets away trying to
hook bouncers or sweeping the best leg-spinner in the world. (sigh)

Grr... sorry, you got me started...  ;o)

I've been watching at 5am most mornings. Plus, I've spent whe whole of the
two Tests wondering why Panesar wasn't bowling, but now I know. They
obviously decided he was more useful serving the refreshments:((((

Haha, yeah ... I can understand the Australians sticking with the same
team - they keep winning! But I just don't understand why they have
taken a full squad of our best players and they seem scared to make
changes when it's obvious we're under-performing.

They seem to be think that by swapping guys it will lower morale but
in the same breath they say the morale of the whole squad is high ...
so which is it? Wouldn't Giles be happy to give Panasar a chance at
proving himself if they were all truely team players? Grrr.

Wouldn't be so bad if we had batsmen who knew how to bat (sigh)

... and to keep it on topic ...

How do you manage your sleep? Do you find you're up early because of
the pain or do you generally find you sleep more in the day because of
the fatigue?

I'm very envious of your ability to sleep a lot:)))
I can get off to sleep fairly quickly, but most nights I wake up between 1
and 3am. Then I turn on my pre-set radio quietly and just doze and listen
until I can't stand being in bed any more. Music is the best thing to send
me off again. I don't get pain, more general discomfort, and I have to be
careful when I turn over in case the hip dislocates.
Yes, you're right, Chris, the danger time is when I sit in my nice comfy
lounger armchair cos it's sooooo easy to drift off..................

Well, i hardly ever sleep in public, like on planes or in a train -
even when i want to... I have to be laying down. But my bed is just
heaven...

That's tough ... do you go to bed early? I usually turn in around
midnight or later ... actually never before midnight and often 2amish
... then i sleep until 9 or even 10am. I am lucky that i work from
home so i can stay in bed until the first call comes in! :o)

Ouch! I know what you mean about discomfort though - if i forget my
meds (very rarely) then i get a bad night's sleep because i guess i
haven't actually slept deeply.

Yup - usually after a nice dinner ... and a can of low-alcohol cider
... I am off LOL

Best wishes,

And thanks to the coverage being bought up by Sky it is probably
watched by the smallest TV audience for decades. I can never seem to
catch the 30 minutes of highlights on BBC2 late at night. :o(

A total disaster for the future of the game ... where are the next
generation of players going to come from if the only mass sport
children can watch for free on TV is football? That on top of an
almost certain Ashes loss doesn't inspire kids to want to take up the
game.

I'm not that bad Sandy, and I'm not that much of a glutton for punishment.
If I'm awake early I'll watch it, although it doesn't do my blood pressure
much good lol
