Well just an update to say that I've got home from hospital again after
another admission for a second Rituximab infusion, the second infusion went
well this time although was feeling very sick during infusion, blood
pressure went a bit all over the place but in the end after 7 hours the
infusion ended, had to be given slow due to reaction the first time. I
learned a wee bit more information from the consultant about it, the idea of
the first infusion is to totally get rid of all the "B" cells in the body
and the second infusionis to get rid of any thats been left behind. The drug
company said that if theres to be any reaction to the drug then it is most
likely during first infusion, I can certainly vouch for that. Its a waiting
game after second infusion to see if its going to work, will now within 3
months or sooner if its working, so keeping my fingers crossed. If it works
for a period of time then I start to degenerate again they will give me
another couple of infusions. Had to postpone my elbow replacement operation
planned for next tuesday asmy immune system has been interfered with again
and to addinsult to injury I now have an ingrown toenail which is to be
removed with the nail bed next wednesday as if I haven't suffered enough
already.

Thanks Robert,,,,  You have no idea how many people just said to
themselves,,,, well,,,, at least I do not have that going on.   My older
brother lost half his big toe with an ingrown toenail.   It still did not
change the fact that he could not take a joke of any kind.  :-)
Hhhhm, B cells,,,,, I have a lot to learn.

Robert.

This is just to say I am very glad all went well, tho sorry you had to
suffer such a long infusion. Let us hope everything settles down now
and that you show good signs of improvement.

Harv is correct. There will be many people who are thanking their luck
that they haven't had go thro this experience (Iincluding me). I am on
enbrel and one always hopes that it continues to work.

Best of luck. Please keep in touch.

Peter
