I have pvns in the ankle and arthritis  of the talor navicular joint. I have
seen a surgeon here in London and wants to surgically remove the PVNS and
fuse the joint. I am worried I will be worse after the op. Any advice or
comments welcome!

Hello Rebecca. Sorry, I've had lots of joint surgery, but not the ankle.

Hope someone comes along soon to help

My wife, who has severe RA,  had ankle fusion to relieve pain and restore
shape etc.  It was quite successful, BUT made stairs difficult and greatly
impeded walking up and down steep-ish slopes.  However, that may be due to a
general lack of flexibility in the front part of her foot.
