Well my monthly "script" has been changed from Co-Proxamol to
Co-Dyramol 500 mg. And I have to say that it seems useless. Has
anyone else had the same change imposed on them? Someone asked
recently if GP's have had new guidelines imposed on them, without the
patients knowledge. I would like to know if the change is financially
driven rather than concerns for the patient and his/her needs. It all
seems very strange that an excellent medication like co-prox should be
dropped just like this. I feel that concerns for the lunatic fringe
are overcoming the needs of people. God, I'm getting bitter and
cynical as I get older.

I find co-dydramol not too good either. Its just 500mg of paracetamol with
10mg of dihydrocodeine. My doctor gave me dihydrocodeine 60mg (controlled
release) tablets to take at bedtime, and they are much better.

Remember my Co-dydramol days I'm sure they contain 30mg not 10mg
dihydrocodeine.

All tabs are nasty, but some folk have no choice but to take them. Seems in
your case you were probably allergic to the codeine lots of folks are.

You could always do what I did - write on it that you would like to continue
using Co-Proxamol for the time being. It worked for me.
