I love rhubarb crumble, but I was so tired this evening, I couldn't be
faffed to make the crumble bit. I stewed the rhubarb though, and had a tin
of custard.
Everyone moaned at me for lack of crumble, so I had a brainwave. Pounded up
a few digestive biscuits and sprinkle on top of rhubarb and custard. It
sounds odd, but its lovely!
There you go - lazy cow's crumble.

Good thinking, Batman! You could also have used Weetabix.

Oh that sounds nice! Or you could crush maltesers (that would go down well
with Janet!).

Okay, lurkin' 'merkin needs translation of 'digestive biscuits'. I know
that biscuits are what we call crackers. I also know that what you call
crackers are what we call poppers...anyway, I digress. Can anyone give
me a definition of this term, please?:o)

After looking on the Internet, it seems that in the US the closest thing
to digestive biscuits are 'Graham Crackers' though it does say these are
sweeter than the UK digestive.
Happy eating!

Thanks, Heather...that helps. Every now and then one of these terms
trips me up and I have to ask for translation.

Well, tonight we had no biccies left (the horrors had eaten them all,
sprinkled over yogurts, after school - wonder where they got that idea!).
So, I took a little meringue nest (bought) and spooned in some rhubarb and
topped with custard. Lovely!

started with Rhubarb and ended up total Rhubarb!

This thread is making me hungry! I LOVE rhubarb, I LOVE
custard, and don't even begin to talk to me about crumble!
Digestives on top sounds excellent, weetabix sounds a bit
weird, but who knows? And chocolate digestives - well, I've
not even go there ... :-)
Next time I'm in Sainsbury's ....

Do you know what I love above all other sweets or desserts? Two large
bananas cooked on the barbecue and served, peeled, with a melted Mars
Bar poured over them. God I go weak at the knees thinking about that.
