Yes I just heard a report on the local radio "police are looking for the driver of a red fiesta, who looked at them in a funny way from under her steering wheel, they know the crankies are not playing Scarborough, but suspect a local Pig lover"

He is a big boy 9lbs 7ozs, his name is Daniel Lawrence, the Lawrence bit is after my dad, and he is gorgeous, his parents Mark and Candice are so pleased/proud you would think it was the only baby ever born. He arrived home this afternoon to lots of blue/white balloons tied up all over the house and outside!! (hard work, thought I might retire to the pub and rest for a while, and wet the baby's head, but I chickened out), ladies dont, do they?
Cant wait to get my hands on him in a few months, when Candice goes back to work p/time, though still waiting for the new drugs to work!!! fingers crossed.

Welcome to UPSA Daniel Lawrence, don't worry about what UPSA is for another couple of decades, just know your Granma is a member, she's the one that will be grinning endlessly at you for the next twelve months and pulling funny faces to make you laugh (she sometimes does that when she posts her photo's to UPSA, but we don't laugh, we wouldn't dare, especially me) you can laugh though, 'cause that's part of a babies job.

Mind you, after the doctor forced me into sitting with my John while he had a vasectomy, I'm glad women don't have that either!

We had a lovely lunch, and they stayed for nearly 7 hours. I thought we had all last met when I was in Bristol 4 years ago, but it turned out to be Aug 2002. I am truly blessed to have such nice friends - even though they're always rude to me:) Janet

I've been a bit absent for a couple of days through sheer tiredness I'm afraid - I have just felt rotten in the evenings, so slobbed on the couch.

I don't moan a lot when things are rough, and never at work (I always think that it just bores people you are with if you are always saying how bad you feel, so I don't). However, that has its downsides sometimes too, as I found out the other day. I had been sitting at the computer for at least 2 hours, and I went to stand up to go somewhere with my boss, except I couldn't stand. I tried and sort of sat down sharpish, then tried again. It must have taken me a full minute to get off that chair and stand properly by holding onto furniture. She was really alarmed, and asked what was wrong. I felt like saying "what do you think dummy!", but because I never talk about my knees, she didn't realise. They are so used to me limping about the place, they pay no attention to it (which is really nice, as I hate it when anyone fusses).
Damn, I am rambling again.

I recently mentioned (as I was required to) to the GP's receptionist that I had RA. I may as well have said, "I've got a tesco club card" for all it meant to her. Just after your last post, I was "getting on with" some jobs around the house I'd been putting off these last few days and was interrupted by a visit from my brother and sil. I offered them a cuppa and sat in the lounge and chatted a while before they said they'd be going. I told them I'd be continuing my Jobs I had to do and went to rise from the chair (back gave me a kick again). My sil didn't miss that and commented. I told her I'd had a few bad days, but knew she knew anyway as she also has a form of arthritis. Funny how things go. -- email replies via - http://www.andyspages.org.uk

However, that has its downsides sometimes too, Very true Jayne, I just get on with all I have to do, with no moans (Dawn get all my moans via phone), but dont you find that then, people start taking you for granted, they tend to forget you have a painful illness, and just expect you do be able to do things you wouldn't normally do! And the silly thing is you do them, whether to prove to RA that it isn't going to get the better of you, or just bloody mindedness, I dont know, but then you spend the evening and night paying for it.
Perhaps we should moan and say " actually I feel awful today" more often!
Right, thats that moan over, saves me ringing Dawn again today........

Oh Heather, that is it in a nutshell. You have said much better what I meant to say. People do forget and take you for granted, both work colleagues and family, and sometimes you do try and soldier on, rather than saying that you can't and you need to rest a while.
